Newsweek Digital for Day Software

Will spent 4 months in 2010 as a temporary part of Newsweek Digital's extremely talented agile development team. During that time he performed numerous tasks surrounding the newsweek.com site, including developing new templates and components, implementing new logic for search and stream pages, extending the tagging taxonomy and relational aspects of the site, as well as some P.O.C. work and performance tuning. Newsweek.com runs on Day Software CQ 5.3, which leverages Sling and OSGi as an integral part of its technology stack.




Will Carpenter
Will Carpenter is an interactive developer, specializing in Flash and ActionScript. Other skills include Sling, CRX, Java, XML, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and video encoding for web. Will graduated with a Dual B.S. in Multimedia and Music Technology from Northeastern University in 2006, and since then has wasted no time in becoming involved with many high-profile projects. These projects include: Scion.com (2008), Budweiser.com (2007), GoArmy.com (2009) and DewMocracy.com (2007) to name a few, plus several immersive movie "EPK" sites for Sony Pictures over the years. Will currently works primarily as a consultant for Day Software, one of the premiere providers of enterprise-level content management software and service who are becoming a driving force in the Java-based CMS space. Their products include Communique, and CRX, both of which are built on Sling.
